Short version: CoveSync does not collect, store, or transmit your files or personal data to any server. All sync activity happens directly between your own devices on your local network.
1. What CoveSync does
CoveSync is a local-network file synchronisation tool. It runs entirely on your own devices and communicates only over your home or office network. No data is routed through our servers at any point.
2. Data we do not collect
- Your files or their contents
- File names, paths, or metadata
- Your IP address or network topology
- Usage statistics or analytics
- Crash reports or telemetry
- Device identifiers beyond what you configure locally
3. Data stored on your device
CoveSync stores configuration data locally on your device only — this includes peer trust records, folder settings, and a self-signed TLS certificate used to secure local connections. This data never leaves your device except as part of the normal peer-to-peer sync protocol between your own machines.
4. The Android app
The Android companion app stores the same peer and folder configuration locally. It does not send any data to Bazzaztech or any third party. The app uses your device's Wi-Fi connection to communicate with CoveSync running on a PC on the same network.
5. Email notifications (optional)
If you submit your email address on our website to be notified of the launch, that address is collected via Formspree and used solely to send you a one-time launch notification. We will not share it, sell it, or use it for any other purpose. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@covesync.tech.
6. Purchase data
Purchases for Windows and macOS licences are processed by a third-party payment provider. We receive confirmation of a completed purchase but do not store your payment card details. The payment provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information.
